Building a Bold Identity for a Leader in Federal Funding Strategy

Vista TechWerx was created to help innovators navigate the high-stakes world of federal funding from proposal strategy to commercialization and beyond. With billions awarded annually in U.S. government grants and contracts, the opportunity is massive, but so is the complexity.

The Vista TechWerx team had already spent years working behind the scenes in federal contracting and saw an urgent need for a more hands-on, approachable partner for organizations ready to grow. Their early brand gave them just enough to get started, but it wasn’t telling the full story.

They needed a brand that could match the caliber of their work, speak clearly to their audiences, and position them as trusted experts from the very first touchpoint.

Vista TechWerx came to us with placeholder visuals through our Hatchery Internship program, where they were selected for a full-service branding experience led by our summer interns. Together with their team, HatchMark Studio, and the 2025 Hatchery interns, we kicked off an immersive branding journey to capture the clarity, confidence, and innovation at their core, while fostering the next generation of creative talent.

From our initial meeting, our goal was to align Vista Techwerx’s sharp strategy and passion with a brand system that carried their momentum and vision. 

Vista TechWerx’s passion for creating real-world impact with their partners’ innovations was something they wanted to convey through a client-first approach. It was clear that they had a strong grasp of the value they offered; they just needed the right visual and messaging systems to communicate it effectively. 

The visual system was a major focus for this project. Aside from the name and a favored color, the Vista TechWerx team was open to a total makeover. They were looking for visuals that matched the cutting-edge nature of the services they offered; they wanted to push the creative boundaries a bit, but stay true to their industry and polished enough for a federal audience. 

We agreed that this branding needed to feel professional, modern, approachable, and built for visionary innovators ready to turn their bold ideas into funded impact.

The Vista TechWerx palette builds on the gradients in the logo. Warm yellows and oranges suggest confidence, drive, and creativity. Hints of blue blend in expertise, while secondary navy blues and charcoal tones tie in professionalism and depth. 

Together, the color system aligns with Vista TechWerx and feels sharp, modern, and built for innovation.

Because the world of federal funding can feel so complex, we knew that for Vista TechWerx to lead in their space and reach their specific audiences, it needed to feel simultaneously approachable and authoritative. We started by identifying its key audiences to better understand the unique solution it was bringing to the table.

Despite their differences in size, sector, and interest, each of these audiences was in need of an insightful advisor to find success in federal funding. To emphasize this partnership-first approach, we went for a primarily professional brand voice, then brought it down to Earth by employing sincere conversational language with a little bit of a confident edge. We focused on crafting memorable statements that stay with you, utilizing some punchier language and syntax to increase their impact.

From there, we crafted comprehensive core messaging that laid the foundation for Vista TechWerx’s brand identity. This messaging not only clarified how they serve their clients but also highlighted why their work matters. It positions Vista TechWerx as the trusted partner for organizations navigating high-stakes funding opportunities.

To round out Vista TechWerx’s visuals, we drew from clean, high-impact design elements, gradient-rich environments, and industrial aesthetics commonly found in companies within the technology and government spaces. Our goal was to create a visual identity that balanced energy and clarity. Something structured enough to build trust, but bold enough to stand out.

The result is a flexible, immersive visual system that feels modern, yet familiar and fitting.

We extended the gradients in the logo across the brand to infuse every aspect with energy and cohesion. Bold, blocky, iterative elements added a sense of structure and movement, speaking to progress and precision. Subtle, glass-text text boxes add a layer of polish and modernity, helping content stand out while maintaining visual flow.

The trapezoidal shapes, born from the split of the logo shape, are echoed throughout the system through dynamic photo cutouts and angular accents. Other geometric shapes were used to frame headlines and photos or layered behind cutout photography to highlight real people, reinforcing Vista TechWerx’s role as a hands-on, trusted advisor.

For iconography, we developed a monoline system with soft corners and open forms that’s clean and easy to scale across channels. Precise, simple, and focused.

To fully bring the Vista TechWerx brand to life, we applied the visual system across a range of real-world examples. These mockups were the perfect way to show the Vista TechWerx team how their brand visually unfolds in the real world. 

From stationery and business cards to pens and ID badges, each item was designed to demonstrate how their strong brand presence would resonate with new clients upon that first impression. We also developed a pitch deck and PowerPoint template to show the brand’s impact and flexibility across digital touchpoints.
